The distribution of the Scholarships to the needy students from the
Village to College Scholarship Program was held recently in the  “Dr.
Gabriel Fernandes Auditorium” at Smt. Rukmini Shedthi Memorial
College, Barkur. As pointed out by Principal Rajshekhar Hebbar, Rs.
64,000/- were distributed this year, the money well spent indeed.
In recognizing the impact of the program, it was through Hebbar, Fr. Remegius
Aranha, the Parish Priest of Barkur Parish, made himself available to handover the
checks to the students, in Dr. Gabriel’s absence.  Principal Hebbar and  Retired
Principal Seetharam Shetty coordinated the program, by spending plenty of their
personal time.

The Village to College Foundation is a dream project of Dr. Gabriel Fernandes
hailing from Moodahadu Village Barkur, now a prominent scientist in the USA. Every
year deserving students are screened and provided financial support to complete
the college education.
We request our visitors to feel free to spread the word, and to recommend any
deserving student, who is deprived of college education for lack of financial
support.
